Malan Breton bids farewell to New York with a “Garden of a Thousand Tomorrows” at NYFW

Spring/Summer 2027 collection marks a New York finale before the fashion designer begins his next chapter in Rome

On Sunday, September 13th, the internationally acclaimed designer will say farewell to the city that helped turn those dreams into a three-decade career when he presents “Le Jardin des Mille Demains,” or “Garden of a Thousand Tomorrows,” at Sony Hall at 9:00pm.

Presented during New York Fashion Week and powered by Runway 7, Breton’s Spring/Summer 2027 women’s and men’s collection is both a celebration and a goodbye. Following the show, the designer’s journey continues in Rome, closing one chapter in a career that has encompassed fashion, film, television, theater, music and performance while opening another.

The evening begins cinematically. A film directed by Breton, nominated for two awards from the London Fashion Film Festival and shot in London, where he learned tailoring, introduces a world inspired by Le Jardin des Mille Demains. Gardens awaken, water moves and a traveler prepares to leave as time becomes a witness to memory, healing and transition. King Seiko provides the timepiece at the center of the film’s meditation on a simple idea: Every second offers another opportunity to begin again. Then the runway begins.

Breton’s garden emerges through light, architecture, romance and movement. Precise tailoring inspired by sculpted pathways and architectural symmetry meets the softness of flowers, fountains and changing light. Silk charmeuse, satin and faille provide luminosity and movement, while chiffon introduces transparency and organza creates sculptural, petal like forms. Women’s and men’s silhouettes intentionally speak the same language, allowing masculine and feminine codes, strength and tenderness to move freely across the collection.

Memory provides another thread. Reclaimed denim is dismantled and reconstructed as a symbol of rebirth, its earlier life remaining deliberately visible. Leather becomes emotional armor, meeting chiffon as denim meets silk and vulnerability meets strength. The collection also introduces Malan Breton travel bags in leather, reclaimed denim and collection textiles, conceived for extended journeys and as vessels for the memories and fragments of home carried into life’s next chapter.

As the collection progresses, it moves toward light. Women’s eveningwear becomes increasingly fluid, luminous and sculptural, while menswear explores a new romanticism through tailoring, silk, transparency, denim and leather. The runway show is directed by Andrew Winans and a special music performance by Iconic House Music Legend Crystal Waters.
